Hello dear readers! This past week, as the title says, began my grueling thirty-hour workweeks that I will have for the next six weeks. Granted, I will be working worse hours and times when I am actually out in the real world and even if I am to get another internship for next summer. I’m actually quite spoiled when it comes to this internship. All three of my mentors (Yes, I don’t just have one. I am now moving to three different positions in two different hotels. They sure are keeping me busy!) are really relaxed and pretty flexible on when I want to come in. At least both of my mentors in reception are. I am still working in Hotel Caballero at reception for one day a week and with the financial controller (who is also the financial controller for Hotel Pamplona and Hotel Java) at Hotel Caballero for two days a week. But now, I am also working in reception in the new hotel that opened up in the BG Hotels group, Hotel Pamplona, two days a week. The two hotels are located right across the street from one another.
Besides working this past week, I have been relaxing at home and continuing to enjoy Palma. As of right now, I have 37 more days here in Mallorca! Time is really flying by! My friend Emily and I are planning things to do to utilize our last weekends here. We even planned a trip to Barcelona for the July 4th weekend. So while all of you in the US will be celebrating the 4th of July, we’ll be taking in the beautiful sites of Barcelona.
Speaking of Emily, her family is here in Mallorca currently. Emily and her family were nice enough to invite me to dinner with them on Wednesday (6/3/15) and also to go to Soller and Puerto de Soller yesterday (6/6/15) with them. To get there we rode on a cute little train that went through a mountain! It took about an hour to get to the town but this was by far one of the coolest experiences that I have been able to do while I have been here. The scenery was just gorgeous on the ride. To end the week and start the next, I decided to go to the beach today (6/7/15) and get some sun. It is really heating up here in Palma and I am told that it is even going to get hotter! I am definitely going to miss beaches just being a bus ride away. Central Indiana and beaches do not exactly go together.
The next week brings another thirty hours and more relaxing to be done. I am always so exhausted after I get home from work. I’ve gotten into the habit of taking a quick nap on the bus ride home. Haha. I just can’t miss my bus stop when I do that. So from my side of the world and until next time, hasta luego!
